Question: I recently had to restrain a student who was about to hit another student. The first student’s mother got mad and complained, and now my principal has told me to never again touch a student. What am I supposed to do if I’m placed in a similar situation in the future?

Attending the 30th Annual ATPE State Convention is a great way for members to become more closely involved with their professional organization. It’s also a great opportunity for members looking to become more politically active to take a larger role in ATPE’s advocacy efforts.

If you earned your standard teaching certificate after Sept. 1, 1999, you are required to complete some homework too: at least 150 hours of Continuing Professional Education (CPE) during each five-year renewal period, or around 30 hours per year.
