Welcome to the Killeen Association of Texas Professional Educators web site. With more than 1,000 members, we are the largest educational association serving the Killeen Independent School District. Believing that it takes an entire community to educate children, our "all inclusive" membership policy includes teachers, administrators, paraprofessionals, retirees, teacher trainees, college students, and the general public. All we ask is that you be interested in the education of children. We are part of the 105,000 plus member Association of Texas Professional Educators, the preeminent educators’ association in the state and the largest independent association for public school educators in the nation.

Spring General Membership Meeting Update

We're still in a holding pattern regarding our Spring General Membership meeting, originally scheduled for March 17, but delayed due to the COVID-19 crisis.We will still be holding the meeting when the current restrictions are relaxed, but notice may well be short, as we are faced with state imposed requirements regarding election of officers.

The agenda will include a couple of critical items that require advance notification to the membership, specifically, the announcement of the names of candidates for the election of our 2020-21 officers, and the posting of proposed amendments to our local bylaws.

Members nominated to the slate of officers for 2020-21 ATPE year are:

• Treasurer: Melissa Walcik
